This Privacy Policy covers both (a) the ICU Nutrition mobile application (the “App”) and (b) our website (the “Website”). Where practices differ, we label sections as (App only) or (Website only).
When you register or log in to the App, we collect information you provide directly, such as:
We do not offer accounts or store user profiles on the Website. We do not collect personal data on the Website except:
We may collect anonymised or aggregated information about how the App is used to improve performance and features.
The App allows you to input patient-specific data (such as age, weight, medical conditions, and nutritional needs) for calculation purposes. This information is stored locally on your device and is not automatically shared with us unless you explicitly save it to your online account or back it up via a connected service.
The App is designed to work without identifiable patient data. Please do not enter any direct identifiers (e.g., full name, full date of birth, national/health ID, full address, email, phone number, medical record number, photos, or any free text that could identify an individual). Use initials and a non-identifying case ID only. If you choose to process personal data, you are responsible for ensuring a valid legal basis and compliance with applicable law and institutional policy.
We use local storage/cookies to remember your theme preference and to cache non-personal content to improve load performance. These do not store personal data. Analytics cookies are used only if you consent (see Section 6).
Patient-related data remains on your device unless you choose to save it to your online account.
When you log in and save data to your account, it is stored using Firebase services, which may process and store data on servers located in various countries.
The Website is hosted by a third-party provider; standard server logs are retained for security and operational reasons.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (including Firebase authentication and encryption in transit) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following cases:
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent (e.g., Website analytics), you can withdraw it at any time.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g., your local data protection authority in the EEA/UK).
To exercise these rights, please contact us at: barazara.dev@gmail.com.
Essential cookies/local storage are used for core site functionality (e.g., theme, caching non-personal content). We use Google Analytics to understand aggregated Website usage only if you consent. Where available, we enable IP anonymisation and retain analytics data only as long as necessary. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie banner or your browser settings.
The App and Website are intended for professional and educational use and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age required by local law (e.g., under 16 in many EEA countries). If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
When we transfer personal data outside the EEA/UK (for example, when using Firebase/Google services hosted in other regions), we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms, where required by law.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page and will indicate the date it was last revised.
